Cochin captured in the Net of Magic...!


Kochi: Indian basket, Snake charm and Green Mango tree mesmerized the queen of Arabian Sea. The event jointly organized by Magic Academy, Ernakulam DTPC and Federal Bank on 18th of May at Durbar hall Ernakulam. Titled Net ofMagic, was an enigmatic extravaganza which enslaved the spectators with its perfection, beauty and ambience… Theevent was conducted besides the launching of the magician’s online directory www.magiciansofindia.org prepared andaimed at the national level magicians. The directory developed by Blue Apple Techno Labs, Ernakulam featured morefacilities and security. Film Director, Kamal clicked the mouse and opened the website, which has marked the launchingof this online portal. Further, the city stunned with spell bound of traditional magic by Eight street magicians. It astounded when a full grown mango tree appeared in minutes from a mere seed, when the magicians levitated the crowds roared at their extremes, the spectators were frightened when they played with a venomous snake, were amazed as they predicted blindfold the number of the currency notes of the viewers with their assistants bloodied head and were shocked when a nineteen year old boy vanished into thin air.
Street magician from Delhi Ashiq Ali performed his masterpiece the great Indian Basket. His son Shahrukh\ vanished in the basket and there appeared a snake and a bunch of flowers. The other magicians who performed were Farooq and Rahi from Rajasthan, Ace Mohammed from UP and Shemeem Khan from Ghaziabad. The magic show began at the Durbar Hall ground and later the magicians performed at Marine Drive Walkway too.
Ernakulam District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, Greater Cochin Development Authority Chairman N Venugopal, magician Gopinath Muthukad, actor Captain Raju, Federal Bank Deputy General Manager Nandakumar and Mazma President Raj Kumar were also present at the venue.
