Woman Magicians' Convention registration forms



Thiruvananthapuram: The Magic Academy has released brochure, registration forms and terms and conditions for becoming delegates for the historic 'Maya 2010' Woman Magicians' Convention to be held here on 30th May. The event that would befittingly mark the 14th anniversary of the Academy gives prominence to female presence in the world of magic. Male magicians can register individually. In single registration form submitted for two or more magicians, it is a must that one of them is a female leader who has to sign the form.

Since the convention is held with the primary objective of encouraging female magicians, slots like competitions are exclusively reserved for them only. An innovative Kitchen Magic Contest is going to add difference to the entire event.

Interested magicians can download the registration forms and terms and conditions by click enlarging and saving the images uploaded here. Enough copies of these are also sent today to as many as 2500 magicians all over the country from the Academy. The terms and conditions should be red and clearly understood before starting to filling in the form. Duly filled in forms should reach the Magic Academy, Poojappura (PO), Thiruvananthapuram 695012 Kerala, India, on or before 16th of April 2010.

Italy beckons deaf magicians


Cattolica, Italy: Following a successful meet in 2009 April, the world deaf magicians are to meet again in Cattolica City on the eastern part of Italy during 23-30 May 2010. Secretary General of the Society of World Deaf Magicians, Dr. Simon J. Carmel (Photo below) has informed this Weekly Newsletter that the upcoming is going to be the13th yearly conference. He told that already two deaf magicians from India have expressed interest to fly to join the event. Dr. Carmel who has authored ‘Silent Magic: Biographies of Deaf Magicians in the USA from 19th to 21st Centuries’ is now nurturing a dream of publishing another one on 100 deaf magicians all over the world. Well known for his magical talents, Dr. Carmel’s is a versatile personality encompassing many enthusing aspects of life ranging from kite flying to physics and anthropology. Country's first-ever Woman Magicians Convention on the anvil

Another milestone in the Magic Academy's service track.



Thiruvananthapuram: Come International Women’s Day on 8th March 2010, the city will find first-ever convention of lady magicians of the country. The historic meet of woman magicians is going to be organised for the first time, by the Magic Academy.

The convention will have all the glitter and glamour as usual with magic conventions. But the Women Magicians’ Convention is going to be a display of the female strength in Indian magic. The meet will find lady teachers during classes, female jury and competitors during contests and woman magicians during evening galas.

Though women are to lead these events, male magicians can also register as delegates.
There will be stage and close-up competitions besides a unique Kitchen Magic contest where household utensils, vegetables etc. should replace usual magical equipments. Separate titles will be open for seniors and juniors.

Detailed information with registration forms will be soon sent to magicians. However, lady magicians who are interested to offer their service as teachers and gala performers may write, attaching their bio data to: womanmagicians@gmail.com. The Academy will hold rights to accept or reject such applications.

Female magicians who wish to participate in various categories of competitions may also forward a bio data and express their interest at the above email address.

Temple town to host a magic conference

Andhra magicians gearing up to make the temple town a temple of magic, too.

Tirupati: This temple town well-known for its spiritual halos, is all about to acquire a mystic sheen of magic. Come November, this town will become a haven for a number of magicians from across the country. Thanks to ‘Jantan Mantar ’08’, a two day conference of magicians to be organized by the Andhra Pradesh Magicians Association, R.K.’s Wonder World Magic Shop. The whole event will go on under the auspices of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams.
