Tirupati: There were around 300 magicians as delegates and 18 well set dealer stalls to make Jantar Mantar, the two-day magic convention a memorable success. Magic fans of Kerala has something to take pride of the event: young Yadunath Palliyath of Neeleswar has clinched the first prize in senior category competitions.

Bangalore’s child prodigy, Karun Krishna bagged first prize in the Junior level contests. Shaily Rangrez of Hyderabad stood second to him. Consolation prize went to Mumbai’s magic girl, Zenia Bhumgara. Winners were given cash prizes sponsored by senior magician Dr. B.V. Pattabhiram.

The winners along with veteran magicians Tantubai, C.V. Ramana, B.N.S. Kumar, Ashok Kharabanda, M.A. Kareem and Marri Ramesh were duly honou- red at a function. In an email message, Director of RK’s World of Wonders, G. Raghu Babu told that the event enjoyed good media support, too.

Temple town to host a magic conference

Andhra magicians gearing up to make the temple town a temple of magic, too.

Tirupati: This temple town well-known for its spiritual halos, is all about to acquire a mystic sheen of magic. Come November, this town will become a haven for a number of magicians from across the country. Thanks to ‘Jantan Mantar ’08’, a two day conference of magicians to be organized by the Andhra Pradesh Magicians Association, R.K.’s Wonder World Magic Shop. The whole event will go on under the auspices of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams.

The programme brochure speaks in volumes on the benefits offered the event to the participants. National exposure with senior magicians and an opportunity to see latest makes from the magic dealers are only a couple of the attractions. Lecture classes by veteran magicians, Dr. B.V.
