Wonder of seven awards

Acknowledged: Gopinath Muthukad presents a memento to Jithu Kolayad in honour of the latter's film winning seven titles in the State Television Awards 2008, at a function in Thalassery organised by the All Kerala Photographers Association.

Thalassery: Mother, a tele-film made by the official videographer of the Magic Academy, Jithu Kolayad, has bagged seven awards in the recently declared Kerala State Television awards for 2008. The cinema received awards for Best tele-film, best director, best producer, best screen play, best editing and second best actress. The film was screened during the International Film Festival of Kerala and the Indian International Film Festival, Goa.

Mr. Kolayad’s contributions in producing the popular travelogue, ‘India: Magic of Harmony’ based on Gopinath Muthukad’s Vismay Swaraj Yatra was highly appreciated by viewers.

Muscat: With 21 days of travel and a 40-minute-long video, Gopinath Muthukad could sketch dazzling images of India in the land of Arabia. The story of Vismay Swaraj Yatra the national integration magical voyage conducted last year by Mr. Muthukad and his 25-member team from Kashmir to Kanyakumari was sumptuously retold through a video travelogue, ‘India: Magic of Harmony’ screened in five Gulf nations including U.A.E., Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman.

The video souvenir of the India voyage formally released by the Defence Minister, A.K. Antony, was screened in the Gulf with the blessings from the External Affairs Ministry. The event was supported by Indian Embassies, Oman Air and various cultural organisaitons.

How the trials and tribulations of a voyage were turned into success after boldly battling a plethora of natural and manmade adversities, was explained in the show. The video could bind the Indian viewers with the soft threads of patriotism. At the same time, for the foreign audience, these visuals were awesome records of a majestic makeup that thrusts the world’s largest democracy.

Stories were there on the people of Kashmir and Kohima, who amid paining wounds of terrorist atrocities, safeguard in the depths of their hearts, a ceaseless quest for peace and unity.

Defence Minister releases India: Magic of Harmony

Defence Minister, A.K. Antony (right) releases India: Magic of Harmony, a video souvenir at Kalabhavan Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram.

Thiruvananthapuram: Vismay Swaraj Yatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari conducted by magician Muthukad and team, was a patriotically charged mission, said Defence Minister A.K. Antony. He was speaking after releasing ‘India: Magic of Harmony’, a video souvenir of the Yatra, produced by the Magic Academy here on 9th February. The Minister also told that the entourage displayed an exceptional strength of mind to accomplish this patriotic mission transforming their trials and tribulations into triumphs.
The function was presided over by poet, O.N.V. Kurup, the patron of the Academy. Veteran actor, Madhu was present as the guest of honour. Mr. Madhu during his speech mentioned about how he was being beckoned by circus, magic and acting since childhood. The video souvenir is conceived by Jithu Kolayad. The script in Malayalam, made by Sreekanth Kottakkal was read by Aliyar.
