Thiruvananthapuram: A triumph through the fourteen districts of the
state has come to its finale in Thiruvananthapuram, when the magical voyage, SBT
MAGIC with a MISSION project targeting the youth and society as a whole. The
state wide programme was with the significance of current scenario on vulgar
ratio growth in consumption of drug-tobacco-alcohol and Pan Masala. The
government’s firm decision to ban the Pan Masala in the state went along with
the awareness campaign.
The mission voyage that spanned over a quarter of the year ran throughout the state against tempts and thirsts of addictions. It was upon a call from the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on the valedictory function of MISSION 5 DAYS at Kochi, the different government departments and Magic Academy along with State Bank of Travancore took up the mission to campaign from north to south and thus the senate hall enchant with magic. The magic of social changes, this time move around with the art of magic placed by Magician Gopinath Muthukad and murmur the manthra of self commitments.
“This government has never
been in reverse gear to act against the catastrophe of tobaccos and Pan Masala.
Muthukad’s magical campaign tells us the influential truths and figures of
addictions through a list of theme oriented items. This is on one hand. On the
other end we took the decision to ban the Pan Masala.” Chief Minister Oommen Chandy
stated in his inaugural address of the culmination programme. “The government
will be with its full fledge for the proposed project of Academy and Muthukad
aiming the campuses”, he added.
The culmination ceremony
started with an introductory talk of Magician Gopinath Muthukad, the Key
performer and Executive Director of Magic Academy where Speaker of Legislative
Assembly G Karthikeyan presided. Opposition leader V S Achyuthananthan was the
Chief Guest of the function. Deputy Speaker N Sakthan and State Bank of
Travancore Chief General Manager M C Jacob delivered felicitation speeches. Minister
for agriculture K P Mohanan also present on the stage. Minister of Excise K
Babu welcomed and A Ajith Kumar, the secretary of Taxes Department who is in
charge of Excise Commissioner thanked.
THE FOOT STEPS OF SBT MAGIC WITH A MISSION
Kasaragode
Magician Muthukad voiced out through the art of
magic, against the catastrophic results of drugs and alcohols at Kanjangad
Durga Higher Secondary School. Message affluent magical programmes lasted for
more than two hours enthralled the entire audience and made them to take up
strive as a commitment in Kasaragode. It was a strong call from the magician
and the government through SBT MAGIC with a MISSION to the addicted ones and
the promising youths.

K P Mohanan turned himself as a magician to inaugurate the programme while E
Chandrasekharan M L A takes the chair. District Panachayath President P P
Syamala Devi Block Panchayath President A Krishnan, Municipal Chair Person

Kannur
The state wide programme designed to spread the
message against addiction was in Kannur as part of its voyage. The campaign in
resistance to alcohol and drugs was extended throughout state from its first
hit in Ernakulam as directed by the Chief Minister.
The two hour long show was
performed in association with State Bank of Travancore, Excise Department and
Information & Public Relations Department at Dinesh auditorium.
The cruise travels with pop
ups to warn with the facts and figures of tragedies in the months of March to
June. A P Abdullakutty MLA inaugurated the mission in Kannur whilst the
District Panchayath President K A Sarala chaired. State bank of Travancore AGM
Vaidyanath and district information officer E V Sugathan spoke on the occasion.
Dr Rathan Khelkar, the district Collector made the welcome speech and Deputy
Excise Commissioner K Karunakaran delivered vote of thanks.
Wayanad
SBT MAGIC with a MISSION in
Sultan Batheri has inaugurated by the District Panchayath President K L
Paulose. District collector K Gopalakrishna Bhatt, Batheri Block Panchayath
President A S Vijaya, Panchayath President P P Ayub, Nasim Ismail, George
Vettikkattil, Assistant Information Officer K S Sowmya, SBT bathery Branch
Manager V T Vinod and Deputy Excise Commissioner Muhammed Siyad were present at
the district level function.
Kozhikode
Magical Cruise against the dramatic
misinterpretation of life’s goodness to addictions of alcohols clutched the
crowd in town. Muthukad’s magical alertness was beyond the thrills, to
encourage the society to purity. It was as part of the Lahari Vimuktha Keralam project of state government and in
association with Excise Department and I & PRD.
Screaming of the youth was
appalling to one and all in the Gujarati Hall of Kozhikode, where the SBT MAGIC
with a MISSION was staged.

inaugurated the mission programme in the district and District Panchayath
President Kanathil Jameela predide the meeting prior to the awareness programme

Malappuram
Empowering messages spread wide over the city in
Malappuram district through the SBT MAGIC with a MISSION, anti alcoholic
awareness programme held at The Thirur Municipal Town Hall. MISSION highlighted
a spot oath taking segment by the entire mass in the hall. The programme was
such effective to prove the significance of magic in mass communication,
according to the local organizers of excise department and district
authorities.
Abdu Rahman Randathani MLA
and C Mammootty MLA were the key personalities to direct and demonstrate with
the public representation for the programme and they have presided and
inaugurated respectively.

Palakkad
State government’s venture to use the ‘skill and
thrill’ of the art of magic turned to the second phase and its state level
launch done at Palakkad. Gopinath
Muthukad performed for an awareness campaign of Excise Department and
Information & Public Relations Department with the support of State Bank of
Travancore.
The
campaign had its launch with a special curtain raiser programme in which the
district collector disappeared on the stage. K V Mohankumar, the district
collector reappeared from a model of the book named “Ezhamindriyam”, written by
him.
The gathered audience vowed to
not to consume and to work for the strive against alcohol and tobacco. T N
Kandamuthan, districyt Panchayath President chaired and K Achyuthan M L A
inaugurated the function in Palakkad. Deputy excise commissioner K R Jayan,
Municipal Chairman A Abdul Khuddoos, State Bank of Travancore AGM Sasidharan
Pillai, S Ravindran, T A Padmakumar, P K Muhammadali and V Ajithlal also marked
their presence.
Thrissur
Magic Academy’s expedition made tremendous impact in
the district of Thrissur. Wonders of magic and manifestation of addiction made
the profound feelings to all in the Town Hall of cultural capital.
Magician Muthukad has made
the commanding dialogues through magic in SBT MAGIC with a MISSION, the state
wide campaign’s Thrissur episode at the Town Hall. Magic was well equipped to
reveal the impacts of drugs and alcohols. Minister for Co-operation C N
Balakrishnan was there at the function as chief of guests and to inaugurate.
Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA presided. Thrissur Mayor I P Paul district
Panchayath president K V Dasan, deputy mayor Adv Subi Babu, Additional Excise
Commissioner P K Suresh excise circle inspector P P Viajayan also attended.
Ernakulam
Magical campaign in Ernakulam was most impressive
with its five day composite of variety programmes. In addition to the staging
of magical messaging, workshops and seminars with prominent figures and experts
were configured to reach the promising teenage students from different
institutions. The edutainment segment of mission catered the youths, especially
the delegates from schools and colleges to make them the resource persons to go
into the society.
‘State neither has any
policy nor plans to have one that encourages the use of alcohol’ stated by the
Chief Minister of the state Oommen Chandy on his inaugural speech of the
district level programmes valedictory function.
The function was presided over by MLA, Hibi
Eden. Minister for excise, K. Babu gave anti-drug message. In an oath-taking
led by famous film maker Siddiq, chief architect of the mission, Gopinath
Muthukad explained the objectives upheld. District collector, P.I. Sheikh
Pareeth, Corporation Mayor, Tony Chammani, Member Secretary of the KSYWB, N.
Madhusudanan Asari and Joint Commissioner of Excise, M.A. Francis spoke on the
occasion.
Marking the lane of statewide magical
mission for gathering public awareness against the consumption of alcohol, drug
and tobacco was commenced in city’s Town Hall. The mission is chiefly focused
at instilling right thoughts for bright future for the youth.
Idukki
Liquor level kept rising though the glasses were
replaced by bigger ones! The same quantity of the liquor filled in a small
glass marked the vigorous hiking in level. The public gathered to witness the awareness
programme in Thodupuzha, Idukki district were shocked with the symbolic
presentation of rising alcohol influence.
Every moment of the magical programme
was strong enough to make the entire audience stand still. P J Joseph, the
minister for water resources made the surprise visit to encourage the programme
in his constituency.

chairman of Thodupuzha presided and Roshy Augustine, MLA inaugurated the
district level campaign in the district. The district information officer P S
Rajasekharan, State bank of Travancore manager Ajith John, Asst excise
Commissioner Salim Kumar and Excise C I Abu Abraham were also present on the
occasion.
Kottayam
Alcohol is simply toxic according to Vasudevan, an
audient being selected from the mass by throwing the disc to have the random

according to District Collector Mini Antony who has taken the lead in
organizing the district level programme in Kottayam.
With the support of the
Kerala’s own banking partner State Bank of Travancore, who are involved in
social concerns with corporate social responsibility Government of Kerala
organized the state-wide mission through magic for mass communication.

Kalloor, SBT Regional Manager Rajendra Kumar, Excise Assistant Commissioner P K
Manoharan and District Information Officer Abdul Rasheed were other dignitaries
attended and regulated the programme.
Alappuzha
‘Quote the quoting of the suffered and sacrificed’
was the theme of SBT MAGIC with a MISSION, the anti addiction campaign in
Alappuzha district, where magician Gopinath Muthukad effectively conveyed the
awareness messages to mass assembled at Chengannur IHRD engineering college. A
mission inspiring to say ‘bye’ to addictions of alcohol, drug and tobacco
voyaged in Alappuzha district and the district level programme held at
Chengannur.
The story of an addicted
youth, Sathyapalan was narrated to detail the changeover in life. It was quite
apt to highlight the destruction through addiction. All it brought to the
awareness programme through magic. Youngsters used to get into the addictions
mostly for fun and friends. The viewers turned wordless while witnessing the
same Sathyapalan transformed to skeleton on the stage.
Chengannur MLA P C
Vishnunath inaugurated the function while Additional District magistrate K P
Thampi presided over. Municipal Chair Person Suja John, Excise Deputy
Commissioner P V Muralikumar, District Information Officer P R Roy, Excise C I
Suresh B, State Bank of Travancore AGM K S Rajagopal, Kunjoonjamma Parambathur,
K Shibu Rajan, T K Narayanan Nair, Molis Thomas, K S Gopalakrishna Kurup,
Vilasini Karunakaran and KSESA district president Prasad Mathew were also present
on the occasion.
Pathanamthitta
A drunkard who appeared surprisingly to the
anti-alcoholic awareness session was noticed by the magician Gopinath Muthukad.
It was at the district level campaign held at Pathanamthitta in association
with different governmental organizations and district governance. The youth
who heavily drunk and came to the programme was a question and subject of the
awareness programme through magic. The spot sample finally surrendered to the

Kollam
Magic on demand was made by the magician Gopinath
Muthukad on the programme of SBT MAGIC with a MISSION in the district to set
ahead for the Kollam district. P G Thomas, the district collector was proposing
to have dedicated theme through magic for the district. The district engaged
with its own mission against tobacco by a collective move lead by the district
authorities is preparing to declare Kollam a ‘tobacco-free district’.
In front of the thick packed
audience in the C Kesavan Memorial Town Hall in Kollam Magician Muthukad
presented variety of magic items to convey the calamities of tobacco and
alcohol addiction. He has briefed the way it come to one for the first time and
how it penetrate to the body and life. The youths are mostly being targeted by
the ‘companies’ and ‘colleagues’ and once it collapse the person and family,
society starts cornering them to keep aside.
The MISSION in Kollam
inaugurated by the Minister for Labor Affairs Shibu Baby John while district
collector P G Thomas, district information Officer N P Santhosh, ADM O Raju,
Excise Deputy Commissioner Thomas K Abraham, Balraj, Thahasildar Girija and SBT
AGM Mathew Tharakan were present on the
stage.
