Gopinath Muthukad has been selected for Jansuraksha Award for national integration by the Pathanamthitta based Gandhi Bhavan International Trust. This is in recognition of Mr. Muthukad's contributions using magic as a medium for reinforcing the values of communal harmony, social amity and patriotism among people all over India. The three national missions undertaken by the magician have also been reckoned by the judging committee.Other winners of the Gandhi Bhavan's Jansuraksha awards are: the Minister for Forests, Binoy Viswam (Environment) and Executive Editor/CEO of the India Vision channel, M.V. Nikeshkumar (Journalism).
