Magic Festival triggers bullets of love to abrogate extremism

Guruvayur: Unlike the magic festivals held in Palakkad and Malappuram, the one organized by the Magic Academy at the temple town of Guruvayur, was noted for the message it upheld. Each day of the five-day festival was inclusive of a brief function prior to the magic programmes, to make the audience aware about the terrorism that tries to build an ugly nexus in the State. Dignitaries from the spheres of art, culture and politics participated in the daily function. During their speech, everyone gave notes of caution to the viewers against the camouflage the terrorists usually resort to.

Major Ravi casts a spell
Most impressive was the speech by the military officer turned cine director, Major Ravi. A recipient of several awards and recognitions, Mr. Ravi’s words had the authority gained through a long service in the army. “Till now, I thought such a passionate effort for the nation could be made only by the military wings, but now I understand that artistes like Mr. Muthukad are also equally capable”, he said while inaugurating one of the evening meetings. Terrorism never germinated from the Indian soil; instead it was being planted every time from an external soil, he added. Former M.L.A. and cine director, P.T. Kunju Mohammed inaugurated another day’s meeting.

Patriotic magic show
The entertainment magical extravaganza titled, Muthukad’s World of Magic, too had a composition sufficient to foster national sentiments. “Let us have a thought for the Nation in our each and every action” was the message sent by the show. The 120 minutes’ show began with an illusion to message on the unity in diversity of the country and concluded with an item that showcased defeat of terrorists in front of patriotically resolved Indian youngsters.

The festival was inaugurated by the M.L.A., K.V. Adbul Khader at a function presided over by the Municipal Chairman, M. Krishnadas. Chairman of the Welcome Committee, P.V. Mohammed Yasin welcomed the dignitaries and Convenor, Ravi Chankath offered vote of thanks.
