Abhinraj to hold inaugural PPC in Kochi on 14th March

Kochi: As the much-demanded monthly Perfect Performer Course (PPC) crosses the mark of 75 on 13th March, the Magic Academy is offering a gift to magicians of north and central Kerala. Now the PPCs will have its turn at the Extension Centre of the Academy in Kochi on every second Sunday. Inaugural session of Kochi chapter of the event will be conducted by young, talented magician, Abhinraj on 14th of March.

This 20-year-old magician’s first introduction to the world of magic was as a budding participant for a three-day Christmas Magic Carnival held at the Magic Academy in 2001. In a short span of 8 years he was grown to the level of a faculty at the Academy. Once, while watching his performance, his master, Gopinath Muthukad was thoroughly thrilled that he took own magic hat and placed it on the boy’s head. For the magicians of Kochi, Mr. Abhinraj is bringing a bag full of exciting Close-up tricks. So never miss this chance. A day of magical education, entertainment for Onam

The Magic Academy and The Magic Space, Bangalore jointly gift a day-long magic fiesta.

Thiruvananthapuram: Three magic teachers and six magically drenched hours would make a captivating combo for magicians at the Magic Academy on 12th of September during the 69th Perfect Performer Course (PPC).

With the support provided by The Magic Space, Bangalore, the Academy has made arrangements to make the coming PPC a special Onam gift for magicians.

To begin the day in grandeur, The Magic Space has deputed its magic teacher, magician Satheesh Kumar, an accomplished performer of close-up and conjuring magic. Popular as ‘Magician Gogo’, his class would reflect his time-tested talent as a professional magician for over 15 years. Noted also as a film actor, Mr. Kumar is also famous for product promotion magic.

The second teacher of the day is a flaring conjurer, Leons George. Mr. George will be driving in knowledge on rope magic. He will be disentangling tricks with rope & rings, rope and flowers and rope & silk. He will also perform a 20-minute magic show.
Piloting the third class will be Abhin Raj, a disciple of the Academy having exuberant showmanship. He will be teaching latest features of close-up magic.

Feast of tastes
For gourmet delight, served will be a splendid lunch in the form of traditional ‘Ona Sadhya’ on plantain leaves accompanied by spicy curries and sweet ‘payasam’.

Teen magician’s ‘Eco-Magic’ marks Environment Day at Magic Academy

Magician Gopinath Muthukad has shown to the world that magic is a palatable medium for conveying virtuous messages in the society. He has set the ball rolling by performing a nationwide ‘Gandhi Mantra’ and statewide ‘Illusion against Pollution’ upholding Gandhian values and ecological messages.
When World Environment Day was observed solemnly at his Magic Academy on 5th June, quite expectedly, the main attraction became an environmental-awareness generating magic show by one of his young disciples, Abhinraj. 17-year-old Abhinraj’s magic messaged on certain pertinent principles of nature love and environmental conservation.
The magician distributed empty envelops to Kendriya Vidyalaya students who had gathered there to attend the ongoing magic camp. Each envelop carried, one alphabet of the word, ‘pollution’ written over it. Then he inserted strong stainless steel spoons one each into these envelops. Each child was then asked to think about an environmental pollution they knew. After a few seconds, when these spoons were taken out, they were in fully bent and twisted state, leaving the kids dumbfounded. “Environmental degradation turns our life into a shapeless state like this”, the magician announced before the gazing spectators.

Before the show concluded a few more meaningful numbers were staged by the teen magician. This included breaking into pieces and rejoining a vibrant red woolen thread to show how our initiatives could reinstate a degraded environment. To show how the soil gets spoilt by non-degradable plastic wastes, the magician had a trick of vanishing a small piece of red silk inside a bigger green one.
Abhinraj is the first prize winner in the first State-level eco-magic competitions held last year under the aegis of the Magic Academy and the Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment. Magician Manu Poojappura spoke on the occasion.
