Reading week celebrated with Unnikale Oru Katha Parayam...

Ernakulam: The magic academy advocated the importance of reading in children by staging an amazing feat by Magician Gopinath Muthukad foretelling the contexts and climax of a story well before a team of children could finish conceiving it.

Titled, ‘Unnikale Oru Katha Parayam’ the show which conducted in association with the Ernakulam DTPC was held at the Children’s theater, Ernakulam on 22nd of June prior to the reading week. It started with a group of randomly selected children from the audience telling the contexts of a story.

Then the magician asked the children to select a book randomly from a series placed on the auditorium. He asked one of the audiences to select a page from this book and read it loudly. Adding the surprises, the ‘story chest’ which was placed earlier at the rear of the audience was opened. There was a banner contained exactly the ideas generated by them. Not over, popping up another wonder, the second story chest hanging on the stage was opened to find an envelope and a sheet of paper in a cylinder. The envelope contained the selected page that seems teared from the book .And the paper tells the story in its complete form unraveling like a cinema script titled ‘Kaatu Paranja Rahasyam’.

The magician read out the enchanting expansion of the story to receive a thunderous applause. The children expressed their wholehearted approval of the magician’s story that was nothing different from what they carried in their minds. The climax of the magic programme was thus living up to its name, ‘Unnikale Oru Katha Parayam’.

The programme was charmed by the participation of Ernakulam Mayor Tony Chammini, Ernakulam District Collector P.I.Sheik Pareeth I.A.S, Film director Siby Malayil, writers S. Ramesan Nair, K.L. Mohana Varma, Sippy Pallippuram and the Director of the Magic Academy Chandrasenan Mithirmala.
