“light the magic candle for a bright future..”

Idukki: The Excise minister K.Babu has stated that the anti drug campaign for the children organized by the state Excise Department gives more importance for the responsibility of awaring the society about the ill effects of alcoholism. 

He was speaking after inaugurating the “Project Candle Light’’an anti-addiction campaign jointly organized by the Trivandrum Magic Academy, Kerala State Excise Department, Fuji Ganga, Green Life Foundation and Karunasai, Vellanad at Mourya Gardens,Thodupuzha.The Government’s decision to provide better wages and training sessions for the employees of the department was also a part of this. The programme was also a reminder for the society that it is their duty to curb the pan and substance abuse spreading throughout the society in a dangerous manner. The occasion was presided by P.T.Thomas M.P. 

The Executive Director of the Magic Academy Gopinath Muthukad lighted the ceremony and gave an introductory motivational speech to the children. Students from different schools took the anti substance oath after lighting the candle and thus expressing solidarity with the campaign. The classes were led by Dr.L.R.Madhujan, renowned Clinical Psychologist and Director of Karunasai de-addiction center and Chandrasenan Mithirmala, the Director of Magic Academy. 

T.J.Joseph, the Municipal Chairman of Thodupuzha, Roy.K.Poulose, Spices board Vice-Chairman,Muhammad.C.R,the Excise Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner M.J. George and the programme coordinator P.K.Sunil Raj also attended the function.
