Thiruvananthapuram: If you have got a talent in making illusion props needed for magic shows, here comes your opportunity. Magic Academy Research Centre (MARC), has made an exciting announcement for illusion makers who are in search of a chance to vent their creative passion. For the first time in the country, the MARC has invited creative inputs from illusion makers to submit their inventions to receive due recognition. Approved concepts will be aided and taken up by the MARC. Carpenters, mechanics, electricians and other technocrats can submit their magical inventions and ideas.
While announcing this, Executive Director of the Academy, Gopinath Muthukad, has expressed hope that this would definitely encourage magical inventors and re-establish native authority in making magic. Dependency on outside products has made native magicians preys to adulteration and cheat, he added. We made the announcement to encourage indigenous creativity and help artisans and technicians in making magic gadgets with an Indian touch, he said.
Attending a meeting of the Academy trustees, renowned magician and Director of Delhi School of Magic, Rajkumar endorsed the idea. He pointed to the degradation of many traditional magic tricks and said that the Academy’s new step would safeguard great Indian heritage in the art of magic.
