Magic Academy setting up first Convocation of University Course in Magic

Thiruvananthapuram: Convocation ceremony for the world’s first magic course supported by a university will be held on 27th of July at the Wonder World auditorium of the Magic Academy. Receiving their magical degree will be students of age 50 to fifteen who passed a course appropriately named, ‘Certificate in Magical Art’. The course was held at the Academy with the support of Kerala University’s Centre for Adult Continuing Education and Extension (CACEE).
   The three-month’s course had four theory papers, two practical papers and a viva voce. Students were introduced to almost all types of magic, starting from close up magic and showmanship to conjuring magic, street magic and mental magic.
        For its historic convocation ceremony, the Academy has assured the presence of the Vice Chancellor of KU, Prof A. Jayakrishnan, who will be the guest of honour to distribute the certificates. The dais will also have the presence of director of CACEE, Dr. Supriya Jayakumar; executive director of the Academy, Gopinath Muthukad and director, Chandrasenan Mithirmala. For the culmination of the function, there will be magic shows by some of the top students of the Academy.
