Jagithial convention concludes

Jagithial: ‘Gili Gili Manthar… Choo Manthar’ 2010, national convention of magicians lived with its name on 24th and 25th of April. Magician Dr. B.V. Pattabhiram and former minister, Jeevan Reddy jointly inaugurated the fair. Starting pomp was Martha Ravi’s electrifying performance. Girls were on a winning spree in the Stage Magic contests for juniors. The first, second and third prizes were bagged respectively by Sheyli Rangrez (Andhra Pradesh), Sanjusha (Kerala) and Ramyasree (Andhra Pradesh).

The winners later shared the stage with a couple of bigwigs including Hashim of Kerala and Stick Manohar of Andhra Pradesh to present a grand gala show.

On the next day senior category competitions ended by adjudging Basha (Andhra Pradesh), Nirmal Kumar (Maharashtra) and Sameer Patel (Gujarat) as winners. Trophies and purses for the winners were distributed by the Member of Parliament, Madhu Yashki Goud.

Along with noted names, Samala Venu, U.P. Raidu and Altaf Ali, this author also got a chance to deliver a lecture cum demonstration for the delegates. The top government officer cum magician, B.N.S. Kumar was presented with a lifetime achievement award whereas the Circle Inspector of Police cum magician, Stick Manohar was conferred the title, ‘Indrajal Vibhushan’.
Magicians gave a standing ovation to the organizers lead by Karim and Rafi for the flawless arrangements they have made.
