‘Magic Crackers’ for children


Thiruvananthapuram: Blasting magic awaits children on the Diwali day. On 17/10/09 the Magic Academy is organizing a one-day programme titled, ‘Magic Crackers’ for children of age group 9-15. The event to be held at the Academys’ Wonder World Auditorium offers a chance for children to watch and enjoy magic of different types.

Vice Chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy, Adv. S. Jithesh will be drawing caricatures of 50 celebrities in five minutes to mark formal inauguration of the event. Honorary director of the Academy, Chandrasenan Mithirmala will preside over.

Teen magician Sujith will lead the beginning session of magic show with teaching. Magician Shaju Kadakkal will teach basics of magical art whereas magician Dareas and his counterpart, Jince Manimala are prepared to explain other related aspects. To fit to the celebration, each session is named as ‘Vismaya Poothiri’, ‘Vismaya Chakram’, ‘Vismaya Patakkam’. There will be 'Vismaya Kathina' comprising of magic shows by magician Shahabas Khan Vilakath and child magician Ananthu would mark a fitting finale.

Participants will get vegetarian lunch, certificates, one-year membership to the Magic Club and subscription to the monthly magic organ published by the Academy. Children who are already memebrs of the Club can avail concession in fee.

Interested children may register their names directly with the Magic Academy, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram during office hours. Last date: 12/10/09.

New lessons on Close-up

Sherin V. George to unfurl 70th episode of monthly PPC on 10th Oct.


Thiruvananthapuram: Magician Sherin V. George comes up to share some of the hitherto untold information on Close-up magic. During 70th Perfect Performer Course (PPC) scheduled for 14th of November, Mr. George will present new lessons of making Close-up magic more impressive and meaningful.

To be in touch with magical maestros and exchanging latest know how in magic has been his hobby. This, of course has proved a gainful thing for him. He has a notable ability in teaching. "To be a successful magician is a difficult thing. Still more difficult is to be a good teacher in magic. This is a quality that Mr. George has acquired well ahead" says a senior hand in magic who has attended earlier sessions of his PPC.

An investigator in the depths of psychology, this researcher is fast preparing for the release of his Ph.D. theses. He is carrying on with his studies as a research scholar in Psychology at the Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University. He is also engaged as a part-time tutor at a college of nursing in Kottayam.

Premanand passes away


Rationalist, magician and elder brother of the late B. Dayanand, passed away at 2.30pm today as per an sms received from Prof. Shankar that was forwarded to one of Magic Academy's official numbers by Mob.9447618920. Magic Academy salutes before Premanand's rational ideologies and expresses deep condolence on his demise.
