Escape act passes on a message

For a cause: Magician Haris Taha being firmed to an iron bed prior to his latest escape act at the railway station grounds at Varkala.

Thiruvananthapuram: Child labour, begging by children, ecological degradation, communal discord… Representing these venomous social evils, a set of sharp arrows made a dangerous free fall over a 23-year-old magician. The fact that Haris Taha, the young magician was in complete bondage turned the scene scary. Still, an exceptionally determined Mr. Taha survived unharmed.

A thoroughly astonished crowd heaved a sigh of relief to find the young magician emerging like a Phoenix, upholding strong awareness messages against burning social issues of the day. Mr. Taha was staging his latest escape stunt at the Railway Station grounds at Varkala towards northwest border of the district.

It was his successful attempt of perilous Spike Escape - the one magicians rarely try.

Among the dignitaries who then showered the magician with praise, was Director of the Magic Academy, R. Raja Moorthy.
