Magic of love crosses the Wagah gates

Wagah, Amritsar: Prior to the Retreat Ceremony, it is usual that both sides of the gates throb in vociferous expressions by the people praising their country. Crowds set aside all logic and believe that more louder they are more loyal are they to their nation.
It was during one such high-spirited occasions that the Border Security Force (BSF) arranged magician Gopinath Muthukad’s patriotically-charged magic show at the Wagah Gate to entertain the public gathering. With people from different parts of the country assembled in their local costumes, the gallery looked like a garden of vibrant colours. Electrifying performance by the desi Houdini unleashing waves of wonder and voice of Vande Maatharam has literally sent shockwaves in the jam-packed gallary.
If this was the case on the Indian side, noticeable was the unusual silence with which the people from the Pakistani side of the gate watched the magician’s performance for the entire 20 minutes. This indeed was much gratifying a thing to note for Mr. Muthukad and team who believe that magic has the power to cross all iron curtains that separate human hearts.
Soon after the sensational Retreat Ceremony, the BSF Commandant Tolia felicitated Mr. Muthukad and members of his Vismay Swaraj Yatra.
